#1 Elyse MacDonough

Elyse arrived at WA last fall and immediately stepped into a leadership role on and off the court. She leads by example with her selfless play, unwavering work ethic, and positive regard for her teammates. Elyse has tremendous court vision, passing ability, and decision making, consistently involving her teammates offensively and igniting our transition offense with her team high assist/turnover ratio. Elyse is also an incredibly high efficiency scorer herself, leading the team in effective field goal percentage at 54.5%. She uses her skilled ball handling and controlled footwork to get to the rim, is dangerous from behind the arc (36.7% from 3), and automatic at the free throw line (90.6%). Elyse is a mentally and physically tough player who does not shy away from pressure and will do whatever it takes to help her team succeed.
